Galbadia Garden, also known as G-Garden, is a significant location in Final Fantasy VIII, situated on the Galbadian continent. It is one of the three Gardens, headed by Headmaster and Garden Master Martine. Unlike Balamb Garden, Galbadia Garden does not train SeeDs, but instead focuses on advancing weapon technology and functioning as a military academy for the nation of Galbadia. Irvine Kinneas trains and lives there. Quistis also spent a brief time at Galbadia Garden taking lessons. The Garden is built upon an ancient Centra structure, allowing it to fly. In the game, the protagonists first visit Galbadia Garden to carry out an assassination mission against Sorceress Edea. Later, the Sorceress takes control of the Garden, using it as a base. Balamb Garden clashes with Galbadia Garden, resulting in intense battles. After these battles, Galbadia Garden’s fate is unknown. The layout of the Garden is more enclosed compared to Balamb Garden, with main sections accessed through enclosed hallways. It has two main floors, plus a headmaster's suite reachable by a special elevator. The Garden is characterized by its militarized training, emphasizing technology over magic.
