D-District Prison

D-District Prison is an unrevisitable location in Final Fantasy VIII, situated in the center of the Dingo Desert on the Galbadian continent. This prison serves as a symbol of President Deling's fascist policies, holding political prisoners of Galbadia. The prison structure consists of three immense drills connected by catwalks. Players are imprisoned here during the game's storyline, experiencing a series of events including a jailbreak. Inside, various floors feature cells and explorable areas, where players can find items, play Triple Triad, and purchase goods. Notably, certain elements such as the Character Report are permanently missable once the prison is left. The prison also features a unique anti-magic field, which is disabled as the story progresses. After escaping, players arrive in the Dingo Desert and divide into teams to either the Missile Base or Balamb Garden, based on their choices.
