Chocobo Forest(The Beginner's Forest)

The Chocobo Forest (The Beginner's Forest) in Final Fantasy VIII is an optional location where players can catch Chocobos. There are seven Chocobo Forests in total, and six of them allow players to catch Chocobos by solving a series of puzzles involving Chicobos. The forests are interconnected, accessible via Chocobos obtained from any other forest. In the Beginner's Forest, players must use a special whistle—the ChocoSonar and ChocoZiner—to attract Chicobos. The goal is to lure out a single Chicobo, which will in turn bring out the mother Chocobo, which the player can ride. The treasure of the Beginner's Forest is an Aura Stone, located at the back right corner of the forest. Completing the puzzle and treasure hunt here allows the player to return anytime and ride the forest's Chocobo directly without having to repeat the puzzle process. This is one of the earliest Chocobo Forests accessible in the game and is key to obtaining Chocobos as a mode of travel for later parts of the game.
