  • English: Chocobo Forest(The Roaming Forest)
The Chocobo Forests in Final Fantasy VIII are optional locations where players can find and tame Chocobos. Within these forests, players must solve a series of puzzles to catch Chocobos. The 'Roaming Forest' (はぐれの森) is one of the seven Chocobo Forests. This forest is unique because it starts with two Chicobos already on the ground. Players need to use the ChocoZiner to send them back into the trees, then approach the fallen log near the forest entrance, use the ChocoSonar to find the hidden Chicobo, use the ChocoZiner again to make it appear and talk to it to summon the mother Chocobo. After successfully catching the mother Chocobo, players can use the ChocoSonar in the area behind the mother Chocobo to find hidden treasures, including a Shell Stone and a Holy Stone. Completing all Chocobo Forest quests allows players to travel to the Chocobo Sanctuary, obtain the Chicobo Card, and unlock the Chocobo companion Boko to use in battles. Exploring the Chocobo Forests is an important side quest in Final Fantasy VIII, offering extra challenges and rewards for players.
