Tomb of the Unknown King

The Tomb of the Unknown King is a location near Deling City in Final Fantasy VIII. It's a labyrinthine tomb filled with water and plant growth, serving as the home of the Guardian Force Brothers. While the main storyline requires only a visit to the entrance, further exploration and recruiting the Brothers is optional. The tomb is situated on the edge of the northern Gotland Peninsula on the Galbadian Continent, an ancient stone tomb nestled within a jungle. The name derives from a superstition that calling a dead king by his name brings bad luck, leading to the king being forgotten in both name and memory. The tomb's interior is complex, with many rooms appearing identical, making navigation challenging. Inside, players can encounter enemies like Armadodo, Blobra, Buel, and Forbidden, as well as the Brothers Guardian Force. The Brothers, composed of Sacred and Minotaur, join the player's party upon defeat, rewarding them with the Sacred and Minotaur cards. Exploration involves puzzle-solving, such as activating a watergate and waterwheel to reach the central chamber where the final battle with the Brothers takes place. This location is crucial to the game's story, providing a key opportunity to obtain a powerful Guardian Force.
