Timber - Roshfall Forest

Timber is a city in Final Fantasy VIII, located on the Galbadian continent. It was once an independent nation before being invaded and placed under martial law by the Galbadian Army 18 years prior. Numerous resistance groups within the city are fighting for Timber's independence. Notable features include its extensive train lines and a television broadcasting studio, as well as being the home of the 'Timber Maniacs' publishing company. The city's name comes from the surrounding woods. Timber's architecture blends old and new, with stone-built houses and stores juxtaposed with the futuristic TV station. Due to citizens' disobedience towards the Galbadian government, Timber has not truly prospered under Galbadian rule. In the story, Timber is where the main party undertakes their first mission, collaborating with the resistance group 'Forest Owls' to kidnap the Galbadian President, a mission that ultimately fails. The surrounding Roshfall Forest consists of multiple areas with enemies like Funguar and Geezard. Timber's train station provides connections to other areas, while the 'Timber Maniacs' office contains hidden items and information. Furthermore, the story includes a part where the heroes take shelter in a lady's house and a rescue mission at the eastern train platform.
