Galbadia - Monterosa Plateau

Galbadia is a significant nation in Final Fantasy VIII, located on the Galbadia continent in the west of the game's world. It is a military dictatorship ruled by President Vinzer Deling, dedicated to territorial expansion. Galbadia is known for its powerful military and weapon technology, with its military academy, Galbadia Garden, training military personnel. The nation is in conflict with the SeeD organization and attempts to control the world. The Monterosa Plateau is a region within Galbadia; while not detailed, it serves as an important location for players as part of Galbadia within the game. Galbadia plays a crucial role in the game's plot, initially as a major antagonist, later controlled by Sorceress Edea, and ultimately falling into disarray after losing its leaders in the late game. The area features diverse terrain including plains, forests, and cliffs, being one of the main areas players explore in the game. Galbadia's military power and political ambitions drive the plot throughout the story.
