Centra - Centra Crater

In Final Fantasy VIII, Centra is an ancient civilization that once flourished but is now a ruin. The Centra civilization was destroyed by a 'Lunar Cry' about 80 years before the game's events, a cataclysm that left a massive crater in the southern part of the world map known as the Centra Crater. The once-advanced Centra civilization had unique technology and culture, with remnants scattered across the continent, including the Centra Ruins and mobile fortresses like Balamb Garden. The fall of Centra led to the rise of other civilizations like Esthar in the east and the splintered Dollet, which gained technology from Centra ruins. Players can learn about Centra's glory and demise by exploring the Centra Ruins and experiencing the past through dreams. The Centra Crater stands as a testament to this civilization's former glory and a reminder of the dangers lurking in the world.
