Centra - Cape of Good Hope

In Final Fantasy VIII, Centra was a once-flourishing civilization destroyed long ago by a Lunar Cry. This cataclysm left a crater in the southern part of the world map, now known as the Centra continent. Based on surviving architecture, Centra civilization's style resembled ancient Rome with white stones, intricate murals, and stone pillars. However, Centra ruins also display technology from the 1970s-1980s, and mystical powers. The Centra civilization highly valued sorceresses and their power, possibly being the origin of the story of the Great Hyne. Centra was once a highly mobile people, travelling across the world and establishing civilizations like Dollet and Esthar. They also built large mobile shelters like Balamb Garden, Galbadia Garden, and Trabia Garden. Although the Centra civilization is long gone, remnants of it still exist, like the Centra Ruins and Edea's house.
