Centra - Almaj Mountains

In Final Fantasy VIII, Centra is a once-flourishing civilization whose remnants are scattered across the world. The Almaj Mountains, located on the Centra continent, were part of the ancient Centra civilization, now surrounded by ruined landscapes. The Centra civilization was destroyed about 80 years ago by a cataclysm called the "Lunar Cry," which led to the fall of the Centra continent, leaving behind only scattered ruins like the Centra Ruins and Edea's House. Near the Almaj Mountains, there is a cleared area where players can find some rubble, possibly remains of a once-prosperous village. The Centra civilization was technically advanced, incorporating ancient Roman architecture with technological elements and constructing mobile city-like structures such as Balamb Garden, Galbadia Garden, and Trabia Garden. The Centra people highly revered sorceress power, evidenced by the statues and murals found in the Centra Ruins. Additionally, the Centra civilization is closely linked to the concept of "Guardian Force" in the game, magical entities that characters can summon for combat.
