Centra - Lolestern Plains

In Final Fantasy VIII, Centra is a significant ancient civilization that was destroyed by a Lunar Cry. The Centra continent is now mostly ruins, with notable locations including the Centra Ruins and the Centra Excavation Site. The Centra Excavation Site is a location visited during Laguna's dream sequences, where Esthar excavated a crystal pillar from the Lunar Cry, which was later converted into the Lunatic Pandora. The player's actions during Laguna's dream in the excavation site affect Squall's party's experience there later, unlocking items and hidden passages. On the other hand, the Centra Ruins is an optional location that players can freely explore, featuring puzzles, tough enemies, and the opportunity to acquire the Guardian Forces Odin and Tonberry. The Centra civilization is depicted in the game as possessing advanced technology and mystical powers, with architectural styles similar to ancient Rome, alongside a blend of magic and technology. The remaining buildings, murals, and statues suggest Centra's high regard for sorceress power. The destruction of Centra has had a profound impact on the game's plot and lore, serving as a crucial part of the backstory.
