Esthar City

Esthar City is the technologically advanced capital of the nation of Esthar in Final Fantasy VIII, situated on the vast plains of the country. The city is known for its luminous blue buildings and translucent pathways, and is hidden from the outside world by a barrier created by the Optical Camouflage System (OCS). A platform shuttle service facilitates travel throughout the inner city. Esthar City was once the center of the cruel Sorceress Adel's rule, but it was later overthrown under the leadership of Laguna Loire, leading to the nation's isolation. In the game, the protagonists visit Esthar City seeking clues and encounter a series of events, including conflicts with the Galbadian army and threats from sorceress power. The city features the Presidential Palace, Dr. Odine's laboratory, a shopping mall, and a platform transportation system connecting various areas of the city, all serving as important locations for exploration in the game. Esthar City's futuristic design and complex layout make it a memorable location in Final Fantasy VIII.
