Esthar - Kashkabald Desert

Esthar is a major political power in Final Fantasy VIII, and also the name of its capital city. Located on the continent east of Galbadia, Esthar is a technologically advanced nation governed by a president. It initiated the Sorceress War under the rule of Sorceress Adel and has since been hidden from the world using an Optical Camouflage System. The Kashkabald Desert, situated east of the Centra continent, is geographically considered part of Esthar. Known for its Cactuars, the desert is mostly blocked from Centra by mountains, accessible by foot, Chocobo, or the Ragnarok airship. In the game, the Kashkabald Desert serves as a notable location for farming Cactuars for AP and encountering other enemies. Additionally, a UFO appears in this area as part of a side quest. Furthermore, during time compression, it can be used to access late-game areas.
