最终幻想8, ファイナルファンタジーVIII, Final Fantasy VIII
Final Fantasy VIII is a 1999 role-playing video game developed by Square (now Square Enix) for the PlayStation console, the eighth main installment in the Final Fantasy series. Set on an unnamed fantasy world with science fiction elements, the game follows a group of young mercenaries, led by Squall Leonhart, as they are drawn into a conflict sparked by a sorceress named Edea Kramer. The game introduced the Junction system, replacing magic points, where spells are "drawn" from enemies and junctioned to character stats. It also featured a collectible card game called "Triple Triad". Notably, it is the first Final Fantasy game to use realistically proportioned characters and a vocal theme song. Final Fantasy VIII was a commercial success and has been re-released on various platforms.
