最终幻想8, ファイナルファンタジーVIII, Final Fantasy VIII
Final Fantasy VIII is a role-playing video game developed and published by Square (now Square Enix) for the PlayStation in 1999, and is the eighth main installment in the Final Fantasy series. The game is set in a fantasy world with science fiction elements, following the story of a young mercenary named Squall Leonhart, who is drawn into a conflict sparked by a sorceress named Edea Kramer. As Squall and his comrades fight against the sorceress and those manipulating her, Squall grapples with his role as a leader and develops a romance with Rinoa Heartilly. Final Fantasy VIII built upon the visual changes introduced in Final Fantasy VII, utilizing 3D graphics and pre-rendered backgrounds, while also diverging from many series traditions. It was the first Final Fantasy to use realistically proportioned characters, feature a vocal piece as its theme music ("Eyes on Me"), and forgo the use of magic points for spellcasting. The game introduced the unique "Draw" magic system and "Junction" system to allow players to customize character stats through magic acquired from enemies and the environment. The game also features the “Triple Triad” card mini-game. It was commercially successful and received positive reviews, becoming a significant title in the series. Remastered versions were later released on multiple platforms.
