Abadon is a boss encountered in Final Fantasy VIII, first appearing in the Great Salt Lake area. It is an undead monster, meaning it takes damage from healing spells and items. Abadon has two forms: crouching and standing. When crouching, it uses physical attacks such as "Claw" and "Tongue", with the "Claw" attack also inflicting a curse status. When standing, it uses magic attacks like "Silence," "Blind," and "Confuse", and its vitality and spirit stats significantly increase. While it uses "Esuna" to remove status ailments, these can be bounced using the "Reflect" spell. When battling Abadon, resurrection magic and items like Phoenix Down and Raise are ineffective due to its undead nature. Healing spells such as "Cura" or "Curaga" can damage it, particularly the "Recover" command or "Elixir" which can deal 9999 damage. If Abadon is level 30 or higher, "Flare" magic can be drawn from it, useful for strengthening magic junctions. Abadon also has a Triple Triad card of the same name, which can be refined into Dark Ammo for Irvine's special attack. In other Final Fantasy titles, Abaddon appears in various forms, generally as a high-level demonic monster with different attacks and abilities.
