Abyss Worm

The Abyss Worm, also known as the Red Worm, Leech, or Gigaworm, is a recurring creature in the Final Fantasy series, first appearing in Final Fantasy II. In Final Fantasy VIII, the Abyss Worm is an enemy encountered in desert regions, initially appearing as a head protruding from the ground. After taking a certain amount of damage, it reveals its segmented body. The Abyss Worm uses both physical and magical attacks, and can counter physical attacks with 'Sand Shake'. It is weak to Water and Wind attacks, and 'Tornado' can be drawn from it, and its card can be refined into Windmills, and then further refined into the powerful 'Tornado' spell. The Abyss Worm is a frequent enemy in the Final Fantasy series, often a powerful foe, and in Final Fantasy VIII it is a good source for stat boosting.
