Armadodo

Armadodo, known as "エサンスーシ" in Final Fantasy VIII, is a monster resembling an armadillo. It has a thick shell on its back and will curl up during combat. When attacked with a powerful blow, it will fall over but will get back up after a few turns. Players can draw basic defensive spells, as well as Quake, from Armadodo. It also appears as a Level 2 Monster Card in the Triple Triad minigame, which can be used for card battles, and can be refined into Dino Bones with Quezacotl’s Card Mod ability, which can then be refined into Quake spells. Armadodo is commonly encountered in various locations throughout the game, providing players with spells, a card, and early access to valuable items. The Japanese name "エサンスーシ" may be a combination of the English word "essence" and the Japanese word "ushiro" (behind), alluding to its shell.
