Biggs(Boss)

Biggs is a recurring comedic character in Final Fantasy VIII, often appearing alongside his subordinate, Wedge. They are soldiers in the Galbadian military and encounter the main party several times throughout the game. Biggs is typically seen wearing a red uniform, indicating he is a higher-ranking soldier, while Wedge wears a blue uniform. Though they start as antagonists, they serve more to provide lighthearted moments rather than pose a genuine threat. They are commonly portrayed as incompetent and foolish in battle, often suffering from their own missteps and repeatedly being demoted. Their role is similar to other recurring comedic villains in the Final Fantasy series, such as Gilgamesh or Ultros. The duo is a nod to the Star Wars characters of the same name, and they often appear in various forms throughout the Final Fantasy series. In Final Fantasy VIII, while they appear as bosses, they are not difficult to defeat, and their story arc eventually ends with them growing tired of the military, ultimately abandoning combat and deciding to leave the army.
