Chimera

In Final Fantasy VIII, Chimera and Chimera Brain are two distinct monsters. The Chimera is a four-headed creature with the heads of a goat, lion, hawk, and lizard, and a snake-headed tail. It appears on the Island Closest To Heaven and the Dingo Desert in Galbadia, though less frequently in the latter. Each head corresponds to a different attack: the lion inflicts physical damage, the lizard casts Aqua Breath, the hawk casts magic, and the snake tail inflicts status ailments. Players can utilize water-absorbing elemental defenses to counter the Chimera's Aqua Breath. Additionally, Chimera is a Triple Triad card that can be refined into a Regen Ring using Quezacotl's Card Mod ability. The Chimera Brain, a variant of the Chimera, debuted in Final Fantasy IV and also appears in Final Fantasy VIII, serving as a stronger foe. It can be found in various locations including the Great Plains of Galbadia and Kashkabald Desert. The Chimera Brain has higher defenses, absorbs fire, ice, and lightning attacks, and uses abilities like Blaze and Aqua Breath. Players can obtain items such as Water Crystals and Red Fangs through stealing or drops. The Chimera Brain is also a card used in Triple Triad.
