Droma(Boss)

Original Title:アリニュメン

  • Japanese: アリニュメン
  • English: Droma(Boss)
Droma is a boss enemy in Final Fantasy VIII, first encountered in the Art Gallery of Ultimecia Castle. They appear in pairs and are summoned by Trauma. Trauma will drain Droma's HP, eventually killing them. Once all Dromas are gone, Trauma will cast Mega Pulse Cannon. Dromas themselves are capable of using the smaller Mini Pulse Cannon. In concept art, Droma was known as Fannel System. Droma's Japanese name, “アリニュメン,” derives from the French word “alignement,” meaning "alignment," possibly referring to their positioning around Trauma or alluding to their megalithic theme. Another interpretation suggests that Droma is a portmanteau of "Drone" and "Trauma". Droma has battle stats similar to other enemies, with elemental and status resistances. Players can use Draw to acquire magic and Mug to obtain items. Their HP, Strength, and Magic stats increase with levels. Droma also appears in other games, such as Final Fantasy Record Keeper.
