Elastoid

Elastoid, also known as Invincible, is a machine enemy in Final Fantasy VIII, typically encountered by Laguna. It primarily casts support magic on allies and can dispel status ailments on player characters. When its HP falls to 30%, it starts spinning wildly, exclusively attacking with Reflect Beam. At higher levels, Elastoid is a good source of Meltdown spells and is one of the few enemies that drop Laser Cannons, which can teach Quistis' Blue Magic. Furthermore, Elastoid is one of two monsters that can be transformed into the strongest Triple Triad card, Ultima Weapon. In the Triple Triad mini-game of Final Fantasy VIII, Elastoid is a Level 5 card, which can be refined into Steel Pipes. Steel Pipes are useful materials for crafting weapons and unlocking certain Guardian Forces. This card can be obtained by defeating the enemy or won from certain Triple Triad players. Overall, Elastoid is a versatile enemy that is both a threat in battle and a source of valuable resources.
