Fastitocalon

Fastitocalon, also known as フォカロル (Large), is an enemy appearing in Final Fantasy VIII. It typically appears with only a fin showing above ground, revealing its full form during battle. Fastitocalon is similar to Fastitocalon-F, but is larger, has a deeper cry, and has more health. Fastitocalon's hidden HP can be revealed by scanning. In battle, it will leap into the air, making it immune to Quake spells, but still vulnerable to Thunder. Fastitocalon is also a Level 3 card in the Triple Triad card game, and can be converted into Water Crystals with Quezacotl's Card Mod ability. These water crystals can be used to teach Quistis blue magic and for crafting water magic. In the Final Fantasy series, Fastitocalon is named after the legendary sea monster Aspidochelone, whose back resembled an island that lured sailors to their doom. The name Fastitocalon is also believed to be another name for the demon Focalor.
