Forbidden

The Forbidden, or "Life Forbidden" (ライフフォビドン) in Final Fantasy VIII, is an undead skeleton monster. As an undead enemy, it takes half damage from physical attacks but is weak to Fire and Holy elemental attacks. It is immune to Death and Doom statuses but can be instantly killed by resurrection abilities or items. This monster typically uses sword attacks and magic. When its HP drops to 15%, it changes tactics and uses "Iai Blow," which causes instant death to a targeted character, although characters immune to instant death will take normal damage. Players can defeat it with a single hit using revival spells or items like Phoenix Down. In the early parts of the game, this enemy is mainly found on the Winter Island and can be farmed for Curse Spikes used to make Dark Matter. The Forbidden is also a Level 3 Triple Triad card that can be used to play the minigame or turned into Betrayal Swords with Quezacotl’s Card Mod.
