Krysta(Boss)

Krysta is a boss in Final Fantasy VIII, encountered on the Terrace of Ultimecia Castle. It is one of Ultimecia's eight minions. To reach the Terrace, the party must cross a chandelier that needs to be fixed in place by a lever; otherwise, it will collapse. Krysta is notable for its counterattacks. It uses "Counter Rocket" against most attack types except physical and offensive items, dealing damage based on the characters' Vitality stat. Against physical attacks, it uses a stronger version of "Counter Rocket." When defeated, Krysta casts "Ultima," a devastating attack that hits all party members, particularly those with low Spirit. It also provides an opportunity to draw the Carbuncle GF if missed earlier. For battle strategy, magic attacks are generally recommended, such as drawn Holy spells. Summoning Cerberus can allow the party to cast multiple spells in one turn. Due to Krysta's relatively low HP, it can be defeated quickly using spells like Meteor, especially with Double or Triple cast. Other options include summoning Diablos and Cactuar or using the Kamikaze ability. Offensive items are also effective as Krysta does not counter them. In the Triple Triad minigame, Krysta is a Level 6 Boss Card, which can be used in the game or converted into Holy Stones.
