Mesmerize

In Final Fantasy VIII, "Mesmerize" (メズマライズ) is a recurring enemy, appearing as a white, equine-like creature with a curved, sickle-shaped horn. They primarily use physical attacks, and when damaged enough, their horn can break off, limiting their abilities. Besides being an enemy, Mesmerize also appears as a card in the "Triple Triad" mini-game. This card is a Level 2 monster card, whose stats might not be the strongest, but can be useful in games using the Same or Plus rules. Through Quezacotl's Card Mod ability, Mesmerize cards can be refined into Mesmerize Blades, which can then be further refined into Regen spells and Mega-Potions, the latter of which can be sold for gil. Additionally, Mesmerize is a notable source of Mega-Potions, as players can obtain Mesmerize Blades by defeating or mugging them, and then use the Recov Med-RF ability to convert them into Mega-Potions.
