Paratrooper

The Paratrooper, (パラ・トルーパー) is an enemy unit in Final Fantasy VIII, a green palette swap of the normal G-Soldier. They are primarily encountered during the Battle of the Gardens when they invade the classrooms of Balamb Garden, attempting to attack the junior students taking shelter there. Paratroopers are more dangerous than regular Galbadian soldiers due to their use of status-inflicting spells and the Demi spell, posing a greater threat to the player. Despite their name, they are not deployed via parachute in the game, but rather with jetpacks. Their stats in battle are relatively balanced with no significant weaknesses and have a chance to drop multiple items such as Potions, Antidotes, and Elixirs. Certain magics can also be drawn from them. Their card can be acquired for the Triple Triad minigame, albeit at a low rate.
