Red bat

In Final Fantasy VIII, the Red Bat is a common enemy that typically appears in groups. It has low HP growth, making it often defeated with a single hit. The Red Bat's Ultrasonic Waves attack deals non-elemental magic damage and inflicts different status effects depending on its level: levels 1-19 can inflict Sleep, while levels 20+ can inflict Confuse. When its HP is reduced to half, it may use Vampire to restore its own HP. The Red Bat is also a card in the Triple Triad minigame, classified as a basic Level 1 Monster Card. This card is obtainable early in the game and can be converted into a Vampire Fang through Card Mod, which can further refine into Drain spells, thus being strategically valuable. The Red Bat card also has a low drop rate from defeating Red Bats in battle or can be acquired from NPCs early in the game. In addition, the Red Bat appears as a random enemy in Chocobo World.
