Torama

Torama, known as クアール in Japanese, is a leopard-like monster in Final Fantasy VIII that appears on the Great Plains of Esthar. It has two stances, and its attacks vary depending on the current stance. Initially, it uses magic attacks, but becomes more aggressive when its health is low. Notably, at higher player levels, Torama may start battles with the Lv5 Death spell, posing an instant game-over threat if the player lacks death resistance. Torama is also a Level 4 card in the Triple Triad mini-game. While its values aren't particularly high, its value placements with many of the same number can be useful in games that use 'Same' or 'Plus' rules. It can be obtained by defeating Torama or by using the 'Card' command. Five Torama cards can be refined into a Life Ring using Quezacotl's Card Mod ability, which can then be refined into Life magic via Siren's Life Magic Refiner, making it an effective early method to acquire Life spells.
