Jacques de Molay was the last Grand Master of the Knights Templar, a figure whose life was marked by tragedy. Born around 1240-1250, Molay joined the Knights Templar in 1265 and was elected Grand Master around 1292. He dedicated himself to reforming the order and maintaining its presence in the Holy Land during the decline of the Crusades. However, King Philip IV of France, seeking to seize the order's wealth, had Molay and many other Templars arrested in 1307 and tortured into making false confessions. Although Molay later retracted his confession, he was burned at the stake in 1314. Molay's death marked the end of the Knights Templar and turned him into a legendary figure. In games like Fate/Grand Order (FGO), Jacques de Molay is portrayed as a character with varying forms, sometimes as a male Saber, and other times as a female Foreigner possessed by an abyssal god. These portrayals often build upon the historical Molay, incorporating fictional elements such as him wielding mysterious powers or being connected to mythological beings.
