Anastasia Nikolaevna Romanova is a character appearing in "Fate/Grand Order" (FGO) as both a Caster and an Archer-class Servant. She was the youngest daughter of Nicholas II, the last Tsar of the Romanov Dynasty, and was executed along with her family during the Russian Revolution. In the game, she forms a contract with a mysterious spirit named "Viy," granting her the power to control ice and snow. As a Caster, Anastasia wields potent ice magic, with her Noble Phantasm "Sumerki Kreml'" summoning a robust fortress for defense. As an Archer, she appears in a swimsuit outfit, her skills linked to summer themes, and her Noble Phantasm being "Snegleto Snegurochka." Her backstory is tragic, with an inner desire for understanding and affection. Additionally, a Lostbelt version of Anastasia exists, boasting enhanced abilities and a significant role in the story. Within FGO's storyline, she is a key figure in the first Lostbelt, the "Permafrost Empire." Regardless of version, she embodies innocence and a longing for trust, while also demonstrating a sense of responsibility and resilience as a princess. Her design draws inspiration from the historical Anastasia Princess, as well as the monster Viy from Russian folklore, making her a complex character intertwining history, myth, and fantasy elements.
