Aoi Kusanagi

Aoi Kusanagi is a character from The King of Fighters series. She is Kyo Kusanagi's cousin and is voiced by Ayako Kawasumi. When Souji Kusanagi moved to Tokyo, Aoi went with him. Shortly before Kyo went to search for Souji, Aoi and her brother had a fight, leading her to run away from home where she encountered Shermie. Recognizing Shermie as a member of the Hakkesshu, Aoi, in an act of rebellion against her brother, asked Shermie to turn her crimson flames into purple flames. Shermie granted her request, inflicting her with the same curse as the Yagami clan. Later, Aoi was found by Kyo who was searching for her and was persuaded to return home. Aoi reconciled with Souji at the Kusanagi temple. Aoi is a rebellious girl who often fights with her brother, although she still cares for her family and clan. She possesses the Kusanagi bloodline, granting her the ability to wield flames and pyrokinesis. She fights using the ancient Kusanagi style of martial arts. Despite being tainted by Orochi's blood, it does not seem to hinder her ability to use the powers of the Kusanagi clan.
