ふたば ほたる

Hotaru Futaba is a character from SNK's fighting game *Garou: Mark of the Wolves*, also appearing in the PlayStation 2 version of *The King of Fighters XI* and *Neo Geo Battle Coliseum*. She is a young martial artist who uses Chinese Kenpo, primarily Tai Chi and Baguazhang, and is on a journey to find her missing father and brother. Hotaru is known for her gentle and kind personality, with a strong inner resolve, and a fondness for animals. A distinctive characteristic of Hotaru is her constant companion, a pet marten named Itokatsu. In battle, Hotaru utilizes soft movements and ki-based attacks. She possesses excellent air mobility and various derivative techniques, making her a character that is both aesthetically pleasing and deep. Although her brother, Gato, is hinted to be her relative in the storyline, it has never been officially confirmed. Despite not appearing frequently in the *King of Fighters* series, Hotaru's unique personality and fighting style have earned her a dedicated fanbase. In *The King of Fighters XV*, she meets Gato again but ultimately fails to persuade him to abandon his hatred.
