Oswald

Oswald (オズワルド) is a character from *The King of Fighters* series. He debuted in *The King of Fighters XI* as part of the "Hero Team," alongside Ash Crimson and Shen Woo. Oswald is a former professional assassin who retired due to a mysterious illness. He joined the King of Fighters tournament in search of a cure. His character design is that of an "older gentleman," with a composed and serious demeanor, while his fighting style has comedic elements, especially his super move "Joker" when it is blocked or misses. Oswald uses a unique fighting style called "Karnöffel," employing playing cards as weapons for slicing and throwing attacks. His moves are often named after card suits like spades, hearts, diamonds, and clubs. In *The King of Fighters XIV*, he is no longer troubled by his illness and his personality becomes more open, showing a keen interest in fighting and gambling, and occasionally expressing pragmatic views. He also has undisclosed connections with veterans like Heidern and Takuma, and harbors a strong animosity towards Xanadu.
