Choi Bounge, also known as 崔稲妻, チョイ・ボンゲ/チェ・ボンゲ, is a fictional character in SNK's fighting game series, The King of Fighters. He first appeared in The King of Fighters '94 as a member of the Korean Team, alongside Kim Kaphwan and Chang Koehan. Choi is known for his agility and dual claw weapons, and his design is inspired by Freddy Krueger from the horror film A Nightmare on Elm Street. In the game, he was originally a night-time assailant who was later captured by Kim Kaphwan and forced into a 'rehabilitation' program, where he and Chang Koehan were trained in Taekwondo. Despite this, he maintains his quirky and mischievous personality, often trying to escape Kim's control. Choi’s fighting style combines his natural agility with Taekwondo, using fast claw strikes and some adapted moves from Kim. He speaks with a distinctive verbal tic, often ending sentences with '...de yansu,' and is known for his distinctive laugh in some games.
