Jhun Hoon, also known as Jon Fūn, is a recurring character in The King of Fighters series. He first appeared in The King of Fighters '99 as a member of the Korean Team and is a friendly rival to Kim Kaphwan. Jhun is known for his unique Taekwondo style, which combines graceful kicks and switchable fighting stances. He was originally conceptualized as a "veteran friendly character" with a moveset inspired by Kim Kaphwan. Jhun is meticulous in battle but is also a huge pop music and idol enthusiast in his personal life, particularly fond of Athena Asamiya's performances. He would even go to great lengths to get her autograph. Jhun's fighting style features his two unique stances, the Hawk Style and Eagle Style, which allow him to use various different attacks and mix-ups. He is also a strict mentor, proud of his ideals of Taekwondo and justice.
