Leopold Goenitz, also known as "Goenitz of the Wildly-Blowing Wind," is a character in The King of Fighters series, debuting as the final boss of The King of Fighters '96. He is the leader of the Four Heavenly Kings of Orochi and possesses the power to control wind. Goenitz operates as a missionary, secretly preparing for the revival of Orochi. He once defeated Rugal Bernstein, taking his eye and granting him a fraction of Orochi's power as an experiment. Goenitz is calm and religiously zealous, believing himself to be a "savior," and is cruel to "non-believers." His fighting style revolves around wind manipulation, disregarding traditional techniques, and includes moves like "Yo no Kaze". He seemingly commits suicide after being defeated by the protagonists in The King of Fighters '96. However, his spirit occasionally appears in later installments, engaging in philosophical discussions with humans. He also possesses powerful martial arts abilities, utilizing moves similar to Iori Yagami's such as "Aoihana," "Kototsuki," and "Ya Otome" demonstrating his immense strength.
