Zero(The original)

Original Zero (Zero (Original), ゼロ（オリジナル）) is a sub-boss in The King of Fighters 2001 and is the real Zero; the Zero in The King of Fighters 2000 is his clone. He was created because the supervising designer for the character was dissatisfied with Zero's design in 2000, hinting that ideas such as his black lion pet and this newer design were conceived but not used. He is recognized by developers to be the first boss to surpass Krizalid in both fighting prowess and presence. He is a high-ranking agent of NESTS and was disgusted by his clone's attempted coup d'état. He was ordered to continue NESTS' agenda for world conquest. He traps the winning team of the 2001 tournament on a spaceship disguised as a blimp. After fighting the main team, he sacrifices himself on the collapsing ship to let them escape. Despite his loyalty to NESTS, he is considered an honorable man who likes to raise children. His fighting style is similar to his clone's, and he uses Krizalid, Ron, and his pet lion Glaugan for support attacks.
