Duke

Duke (デューク) is a character from the fighting game series The King of Fighters (KOF), specifically a spin-off titled KOF: Maximum Impact. He first appears as the final boss in the first Maximum Impact game but becomes a playable character in the sequel, Maximum Impact 2. Duke was conceived as a classic gang boss with extravagant clothing and a troubled past. He was once the ruler of Southtown and the leader of the Mephistopheles gang, a subgroup of the Addes underworld organization. He is a formidable fighter whose fighting style combines boxing, karate, wrestling, tae kwon do, and various street brawling techniques, relying heavily on brute strength. He is tied to the Meira brothers and their mentor Fate, being considered the one responsible for Fate's death. Duke's character is complex, showcasing both ambition and a reluctance to be controlled, as well as a deep emotional attachment to family, such as his sister. In the ending of KOF: Maximum Impact 2, he is portrayed as a tragic figure, visiting his sister's grave to lay flowers.
