Syo Kirishima is a character in SNK's fighting game series, The King of Fighters. He first appeared as a striker in The King of Fighters '99: Evolution. Syo Kirishima is voiced by Mitsuo Iwata. Syo Kirishima is essentially a prototype of Kyo Kusanagi, similar to how Kang Bae Dal is a prototype for Jhun Hoon. Syo is known for his impulsive behavior, often acting before thinking, though he is also a talented martial artist. His profile suggests that he was initially intended to be a childlike character. Syo can manipulate fire; he can create flames from thin air and uses fire-infused punches. Notably, Kyo Kusanagi also uses a move related to Syo's name in The King of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match, possibly due to their shared voice actor.
