Mukai

Mukai, also known as 無界 or ムカイ, is a character in The King of Fighters (ザ・キング・オブ・ファイターズ) series, first appearing as the final boss in The King of Fighters 2003. He is a member of the mysterious organization known as "Those from the Past". Mukai's design is inspired by the concept of petrification, wearing a short robe with a sash. His origins are unknown, and he appears suddenly in KOF 2003 to seek out strong opponents and test his strength. He is implied to be connected to the Orochi bloodline and Ash Crimson's goals. Mukai's fighting style is unique, allowing him to control rocks, launch rock projectiles, and summon pillars for close combat. He can also petrify opponents, rendering them immobile. His special move, "Netherworld Agony," releases an energy beam that causes wide-range damage and petrification. Mukai's speech is solemn, with grandiose declarations akin to a prophet, yet he respects the potential of humans. In The King of Fighters XIII, he is killed when Saiki drains his life force.
