Orochi

Orochi (オロチ) is a central antagonist in The King of Fighters series, debuting as the final boss in The King of Fighters '97. Inspired by the mythical Yamata no Orochi, Orochi is considered the embodiment of Gaia's Will, possessing immense divine power and aiming to eradicate humanity to restore natural balance. In the games, Orochi's power is depicted as dark energy capable of controlling natural elements and granting his followers great strength. Orochi is genderless, typically appearing in the form of Chris, a muscular man with silver hair and red eyes. Orochi is destined to clash with the three sacred treasures families (Kusanagi, Yagami, Kagura) of the series, whose descendants have the charge to protect the seal that contains Orochi. Orochi's narrative is central to many chapters of the series and has a profound influence on the KOF universe. Beyond being an antagonist, Orochi is a symbolic figure of the contradiction between natural forces and human progress, making it a philosophically rich character.
