Hwa Jai

Hwa Jai is a character from the Fatal Fury and The King of Fighters series. He first appeared in the original Fatal Fury game and returned as a playable character in The King of Fighters XIII. In the King of Fighters series, he is portrayed as a chaotic Muay Thai fighter, once a Muay Thai champion who fell into despair after being defeated by Joe Higashi. Seeking revenge, he joined Geese Howard's organization. However, in the King of Fighters series, he eventually reconciles with Joe and becomes his manager and coach. In KOF XIII, he returned as a "surprise character", retaining his unique fighting style. Notably, after taking damage, he consumes an 'energy drink' to boost his abilities, a concoction rumored to be made of herbs rather than alcohol or cola. Hwa Jai's fighting style is based on traditional Muay Thai, incorporating moves like the "Dragon Kick" and "Dragon Back Breaker". Although he initially appears as Joe's rival, he shows a more complex personality as the story progresses, and in some iterations, becomes friends with him. His storyline also suggests an understanding of his past mistakes and a reevaluation of the martial arts spirit.
