Jan, sometimes called Jean, is a character in the Art of Fighting and The King of Fighters series. He is voiced by Harumi Ikoma in The King of Fighters: Kyo and Uiyo Sakurai in The King of Fighters: Destiny. Jan is King's younger brother, who was initially unable to walk. In the ending of Art of Fighting 2, Ryo Sakazaki and Robert Garcia, grateful for King's help in finding Yuri Sakazaki and defeating Mr. Big, cover the cost of an operation that allowed Jan to walk again. Before the start of The King of Fighters '96, Jan was involved in a traffic accident and hospitalized. During the Women's Team ending, it is revealed that King's teammates (Mai Shiranui and Kasumi Todoh) raised enough money to cover his medical expenses. He is later discharged from the hospital healthy. By the time of The King of Fighters: Kyo, Jan appears to be walking without difficulty and lives with his sister King, who runs a bar in California. He attacks a tourist who was bullying a hotel employee. Although he believes his actions were just, he runs away because he was worried about his sister. Kyo Kusanagi persuades him to return home. To celebrate, King prepares Jan's favorite dish: oxtail stew. Jan is a good boy who loves his sister very much. He is also outgoing, sometimes flirting with King's friends. In some game endings, he shows a bit of a mischievous side, such as when he runs off with Yuri's bikini top at the beach.
