Galford D Weller

Galford D. Weller, also known as Galford, is a character in the *Samurai Shodown* series. He has consistently been in the roster since his introduction in the first *Samurai Shodown* game, with the exception of *Samurai Shodown: Warriors Rage*. He fights alongside his pet husky, Poppy, and is sometimes accompanied by her puppies. His "Rasetsu/Bust" form appears as a separate character from him in *Samurai Shodown VI*. Galford is an American ninja who travels the world in pursuit of justice. Born in San Francisco as the son of a sheriff, he developed a strong sense of justice from a young age. Following his father's murder, Galford left home, vowing to become a hero strong enough to protect the innocent and avenge his father. He is proficient in Koga-style ninjutsu and has created his own unique Galford-style ninjutsu. He is optimistic and cheerful, and is the most lighthearted ninja character in the *Samurai Shodown* series. Although he fights for justice, he will not hesitate to take someone's life for the greater good. He also harbors regret for leaving his mother and sisters, knowing he was meant to help the family's income, but knows he can't rest until justice has been served. He has strong romantic feelings for the Ainu princess Nakoruru, although this was somewhat shaken in his ending in *Samurai Shodown VI*, where he decides to focus on fighting evil. Galford was also planned to participate in *The King of Fighters* series as part of a "Samurai Spirits Team", but the idea was dropped due to time constraints.
