Gai Tendo is the main protagonist of SNK's fighting game Buriki One. His design was inspired by mixed martial artists, possibly referencing real-life fighters Kazushi Sakuraba or Caol Uno, as well as the manga character Baki Hanma from Baki the Grappler. He is known for his mixed martial arts fighting style, utilizing chain combos of punches, elbow strikes, kicks, and shin strikes. He made a surprise appearance in The King of Fighters XI, where developers rearranged his moveset to better fit the KOF style. Gai is portrayed as a brash and impulsive fighter, someone who acts without thinking. He is voiced by Nobuyuki Hiyama. Gai has also made cameo appearances in The King of Fighters series, including The King of Fighters 2000 and The King of Fighters XI. His fighting style is classified as a rushdown character, specializing in close-range combos and exploiting gaps in an opponent's defense.
