Heather Mason, also known as ヘザー・メイソン in Japanese, is a fictional character in the Silent Hill video game series. She first appears as a supporting character in the original Silent Hill (1999) and later returns as the main protagonist of Silent Hill 3 (2003). In the game, Heather is the adopted daughter of Harry Mason, the protagonist of the first game, and she is also the reincarnation of Alessa Gillespie and Cheryl Mason. She becomes embroiled in a cult's plot to resurrect their god and is forced to confront the horrors lurking in Silent Hill. Heather is portrayed as a strong-willed, somewhat rebellious teenager, yet she exhibits great courage and determination. She is considered one of the most iconic protagonists in the Silent Hill series, and her character has been portrayed in multiple adaptations, including being fused with Cheryl in Silent Hill: Shattered Memories as “Cheryl Heather Mason,” and as Sharon Da Silva, played by Adelaide Clemens, in the film Silent Hill: Revelation. Heather's complex character, combining teenage angst with heroic duty, has made her a fan favorite.
