Stanley Coleman is a fictional character from Silent Hill 3, a former patient at Brookhaven Hospital. He communicates with the player character, Heather Mason, through diary entries, but never appears directly. Stanley suffers from severe attachment disorder, developing an unhealthy obsession with Heather, whom he doesn’t actually know. His diaries reveal his twisted view of love and his intense possessiveness of Heather, along with violent and sexually suggestive undertones. He expresses desires to rip out his heart for Heather and tattoo his chest to show his love. He also obsessively glues objects to his room walls, such as cookies, beetles, and keys. Throughout the game, players can find his diaries, typically accompanied by a small doll. Heather initially recalls playing with similar dolls when she was younger, but after reading the diaries, she becomes repulsed and refuses to touch it. Stanley believes himself to be the only sane person in the hospital and views himself as Heather's savior. Despite not having a physical appearance in the game, his distorted psychology and unhealthy obsession leave a lasting impact, making him one of the most unsettling characters in Silent Hill 3. In the game’s other world, it is implied that he is dead and appears as “Number 7”.
