Joseph Schreiber

Joseph Schreiber, also known as J, is the false protagonist in Silent Hill 4: The Room. He is mentioned in Silent Hill 3 through his own magazine article. Joseph was a journalist who resided in the South Ashfield Heights apartment complex in the town of Ashfield. His apartment room, Room 302, serves as the central area of Silent Hill 4: The Room. While investigating the Order and its connections to the Wish House Orphanage, Joseph found himself sealed inside Room 302, with his only escape being a mysterious hole in the storage room. He ventured into Walter's Otherworlds and ultimately became Walter's 15th victim. In the game, players initially experience Room 302 through his perspective, and he is the only ghost victim not hostile to Henry. In Room 302 of the Past, his ghost informs Henry and Eileen that the only way to end the nightmare is by killing Walter Sullivan.
