Eileen Galvin is a significant character in *Silent Hill 4: The Room*, often considered the deuteragonist. She is Henry Townshend's neighbor, residing in Room 303. Eileen lived there before Henry's arrival and knew Joseph Schreiber until his mysterious disappearance. Despite Henry living in the South Ashfield Heights apartments for over two years, their interactions were minimal. She previously lived in North Ashfield and is the 20th victim in the 21 Sacraments ritual, known as 'The Mother Reborn.'
Eileen has an outgoing and sociable personality. She cares for others and is friendly to her neighbors. Eileen was the first to notice Henry's unusual behavior and contacted the building's superintendent. She also gave a doll to young Walter Sullivan, being the only one who tried to comfort him. Eileen enjoys plush toys and has a Robbie the Rabbit doll from the Silent Hill amusement park. She studied archaeology in college and can read Walter's diary.
In the game, Eileen becomes trapped in Walter's nightmare world alongside Henry. She is injured and slowly possessed by Walter. Depending on the player's actions, Eileen might die in the final ritual or survive. Her fate is a crucial element of the game's ending.
